Many of the animals we receive are too young and or vulnerable to house at the shelter. Often these youngsters just need a few more weeks to grow, establish immunity. Foster care volunteers provide a temporary, loving home environment for these special animals.
Our foster families have the room to keep our animals separate from their own pets. (This is usually a spare bedroom, office or guest bathroom – anywhere a door can be kept closed.) They also have time to dedicate for the special care and attention that our pets need. The Delta Animal Shelter will provide pet food and any needed supplies or equipment. Our foster volunteers provide the home, the love and the transportation for the pet.
If you are able to assist us in fostering these special pets, please complete a Foster Parent Application and return it to us today! Our Adoption Center Manager will contact you by phone soon after that.
